The Turtles Class were really excited to board the bus and head off to the Al Qouz District Fire Station. They were met by friendly firemen who immediately taught them the emergency number in case of a fire.
After everyone was safely seated the crew lit a fire in a grill about 100 metres away from the children. The firetruck blew its whistles and sirens, and drove towards the fire. The crew got out attached the hose and put out the fire. The children were intrigued, so they did it again!
Afterwards, the children walked to the firetruck and each one was hoisted up to take a peek inside, what a treat!
The final part was touring the station and visiting the ‘operation room’ this is where calls are received to report fires. What an informative exciting day for the children. Remember the emergency number for the fire station…997!
